I started laying in the first washes. I’ve decided to go with opaque white on the feathers, so I am really just giving myself some directional guides with these shadow colors on the chest. I want this turkey’s fancy coat and collar to pop out, so some impasto wi be pretty cool for that. I probably won’t return to this one tonight, so I am posting my progress now. With a lot of time off coming up, I will be working on a few paintings simultaneously for a while.
Thanks for reading.
Great waddle additions.
Corey, I really like what I’m seeing here. I think you’ve got a keeper. That looks like the same Winsor & Newton field box I use.
Thanks. This painting seems like it will confirm a step forward for me. As for the box, it is the same and I love it. Very well designed. I got it this fall and have found it to be really great–better than the little tin I was using and better than the plastic folding palettes. Unfortunately I haven’t gotten to take it out much beyond a business trip to New Orleans, so it’s mostly a studio box for now, but I hope that will change.
