Beautiful afternoon in the garden. I added a lot more color to my palette for this year to go with the better weather. Nice to put some Daniel Smith carbazole violet and Winsor orange to good use on this one.
A few weeks ago I was in eastern Kentucky and Tennessee. Dawn over the lake near Morristown, TN was lovely.
Then back home for a bit where I fit in a few small sketches.
Then on the road again to New Orleans. I had a few hours at the airport waiting for my plane to show up. At least there was an abundance of cones.
And back home once more, sketching some catmint in the front yard. After a week of consistent rain it was nice to have some sun and a few minutes to paint in between the backlog of yard work.
The last one from a recent trip up to Lucketts. 6×9 watercolor
Another 6×6 watercolor from along route 15 near Lucketts. I liked the light effect on the roof.
6×6 watercolor of some sheep hanging out between Leesburg and Luckets.
6×6 watercolor of the Potomac River. Ultramarine Blue, Viridian, Burnt Sienna, Van Dyck Brown, Yellow Ochre. A great color palette for fall and winter painting.
